About the Artist...
Petite in frame but big on creativity New Jersey pop artist, Andrea
Ramirez, began her artistic career by studying fashion design in New
York City. While studying fashion Andrea began to gain a greater
appreciation for textiles, prints, and textures and began to concentrate
solely on textile surface design which allowed for more room of
creative expression. Using similar design techniques from her work with
textiles, Andrea's artwork is highly stylized and vibrant in nature. Her
characteristic use of rich color combinations and bold graphic lines
are a unique signature in Andrea’s artwork.
Andrea Ramirez was born in San Jose, Costa Rica and lived in the small Caribbean town of Puerto Limon. She later moved with her family to New Jersey in the early 1980’s. Living close to New York city she would often take trips into New York with her family which at the time was at the height of its pop culture craze. It was during these memorable years where Andrea's fascination with pop culture began. Andrea has exhibited locally and nationally, and recently finished a month long exhibition in Chelsea, NY. Her breakthrough exhibit into main stream cutting edge art was at legendary Cpop gallery in Detroit. Andrea is currently working on commissioned work, and freelance graphic design projects.
